The Holy Week in Tenerife has a lot of diverse activities that would make this little vacations unforgettable memories.
Planning a trip for the Holy Week can be a very fun activity. But between the huge variety of places to go and how fast trips and hotel reservations are booked, it seems like in order to have a few nice days you have to plan this vacation way ahead of its time, but spending the Holy Week in Tenerife is actually very easy. The south of the island offers a great variety of diverse activities that you can do to enjoy these few free days and know a little more about the culture and religion that is part of the Canary Islands.
The first thing you need to keep in mind is which days are free. It’s true that from this Monday there are already a lot of things to do, but the most important and fun activities are celebrated this Friday till this Sunday. If you want to know a little more about how religion is celebrated during this week in Tenerife, there are a lot of processions that go around the whole Island and that can be quite interesting to see.
A bit of culture and religion
Around the whole week, a lot of towns in the south of Tenerife would have activities in their churches. This Friday 15 of April you can see in the town of Adeje, the life action presentation of the crucifixion and in the week there will be religious ceremonies that you can check on the towns’ website. These are great ideas to know a bit more of the canary culture, go to not so known places of the island and see first how people celebrated these festivities.
Another cultural activity that is quite interesting is the Ruta de la Tapa de Cuaresma. This course started last Monday and will last until the 17th of April in Adeje Centro. Here you can eat some of the best tapas made by the hand of some great chefs of the island, get to know new places to eat and vote for the winner of Tapa de Oro de la Cuaresma. This activity is fun and delicious.
A techno vacation
It’s true that this amazing island has a lot of great places to visit, and this week there will be a lot of festivals and parties going on. This is the perfect chance to not only visit a new place, but also enjoy the greatest music. One of the events is the international festival, Elrow. This incredible show with more than five years having amazing parties can be enjoyed this April 15th in Golf Costa Adeje, where you can listen to great acts of the electronic music world like Claptone, Lee Foss and Andrea Oliva.
To keep the party going the next day, April 16th, there will be two amazing festivals that you can not go wrong with either of them. Greenworld is the underground act of techno in the Canary Islands and you can enjoy it in Golf del Sur. On the other hand, we have Planet Love, an event created by Farra World, and that can be enjoyed in the most important aquatic park in the islands, Siam Park.
If the techno music of the festival is not really your thing, but you still want to have a great day with music and a nice environment, the south of the island has you covered. There are a lot of nice places to have a drink and enjoy the sunset, but La Terrazza del Mare and Restaurante Ancla Médano are the nicest places to go this week and enjoy a bit of great music and peace.
Days of relaxation
And if this week what you want to do is unwind and enjoy these few days in peace in an amazing hotel, Villa Mandi Golf Resort is the best option out there. In this fantastic hotel, you can enjoy these well deserved days of rest and have nothing to worry about. Just enjoy the pool and the nice weather. Also, it is a great place to stay if you want to be in the center of all the activities that the south of Tenerife has prepared for this Holy Week.
